Further Hotel Information

The Apostolata Island Resort & Spa Hotel is located on a hillside overlooking the Ionian Sea on the south-eastern coast of sunny Kefalonia. The hotel provides a complimentary bus service to the neighbouring villages of Poros and Skala. T

Skala is a small village that has become a popular tourist resort over the last 20 years. It has a sand and shingle beach offering a range of water sports. Just off the main street is the original fishing village where tourists can wander around the maze of cobblestoned streets amongst the old houses and traditional tavernas (where locals sit outside playing cards).

Though still picturesque, the modern village was rebuilt after the earthquake in 1956 which destroyed almost all the original village. Some of the history dotted around the village includes a 3rd century Roman villa which is free to visit and has some well-preserved mosaics. Another interesting place to visit is Potamaki beach, where the rare loggerhead turtles lay their eggs. Take one of the trips at night, it is something you will never forget.
