Ialyssos is another resort that showcases the laidback side of Rhodes to overseas visitors and is perfect for those who want to simply relax and enjoy their time in the sun.
The main attraction of Ialyssos is the beach, with a stretch of pebble and shingle that is ideal for topping up your tan.
You could also take a relaxing dip in the warm waters of the Mediterranean or head for one of the various small bars that are to be found along the front.
It is near the front where you’ll also find many of the main hotels within Ialyssos, meaning you’ll never be too far from the beach when the mood takes you.
As well as lying back and enjoying the year round sun that is to be expected on the island, you can also watch the windsurfers who like to make the most of the favourable conditions off the coast.
A short stroll away from the beach in the heart of the village, there are plenty of welcoming taverns in which to grab a drink with the locals, with modern restaurants providing ample opportunity to enjoy some traditional Greek cuisine.
Given the location, Ialyssos is a good base for further exploration of the north of the island, with the capital Rhodes Town being nearby for those who want to embrace history and culture.
As also hit the shops to pick up some souvenirs to take back home.
The more bustling resort of Faliraki, with it’s many bars and popular waterpark, is also just a short trip away.
