Located on Platanias Beach, the Sonio Beach Apartments are 11 km from the city of Chania and 32 km from Chania International Airport. The mile- long sandy beach offers tourists the opportunity to experience a variety of water sports. The owner of the complex organizes walking tours of the village twice a week for those wishing to experience the local way of life.

The complex provides an outdoor swimming pool and a separate children’s pool surrounded by sun beds. An English breakfast is served daily at the pool area and the on-site restaurant serves a selection of Cretan cuisine prepared with fresh local ingredients. Spend your day on the beach, or in the pool with a pool bar serving cool drinks and cocktails.

Platanias was once a mainly agricultural village, but now it has become one of the busiest resorts on Crete’s north western coast. The village has a wealth of bars and clubs for those nights on the town and also some excellent tavernas and restaurants. Like most villages in Crete, Platanias has 2 parts. The first is the ‘old town’ which begins on the hill, with traditional houses covered in lovely red, pink and white flowers. Move down to the beach area and you have the new village with its bars, clubs and restaurants.
