Mayor Pelekas Monastery Hotel 4 stars

The Mayor Pelekas Monastery sits in a prime location close to Kontogialos Beach; arguably one of the best to be found anywhere on the Mediterranean island of Corfu.

Less than half an hour away from the main Corfu town, and the airport, the resort is the perfect base from which to explore the many delights of the surrounding area, ranging from the picturesque streets of Pelekas Village to Corfu's first class golf club and the lookout point at Kaiser's Throne from where you can take in astonishing views of the sun rising in a morning and then going down in the evening.

The resort itself is home to 181 stylish rooms, all of which underwent renovation work in preparation for the 2016 season. Whilst some rooms have a view inland, the majority benefit from stunning panoramic views across the Ionian Sea, with contemporary design throughout more than living up to the hotels five star billing.

When it comes to dining, a range of options are available to give guests the opportunity to sample a selection of international dishes that are sure to tickle the taste buds.

Cuisine from around the world can be enjoyed at the main Petra restaurant, whilst healthy tastes of the Mediterranean fill the menu at Pergola. A la Carte dining is available at the Olive Tree against the dramatic backdrop of the ocean, with dining also available alongside the beach with the sand between your toes.
