Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen sits around an hour away from Cancun on the Yucatan Peninsula and is another popular option with overseas visitors who are seeking to enjoy a HOT Holiday in the Mexican sun.

As with its well-visited neighbor, Playa del Carmen benefits from favourable weather conditions throughout that year that are indicative of its position on the fringes of the Caribbean.

Rain can be a factor during the summer months although any showers tend to be short and sharp rather that prolonged.

In the same way that Cancun is known for its beaches, so Playa del Carmen is also home to some impressive stretches of coastline where you can lie back and enjoy the best of the weather.

The white sands lead into clear blue waters where you can take a refreshing dip to cool off, whilst in the heart of the resort, you can even expect to find DJs playing their tunes alongside the water on an evening.

If you are a fan of watersports, there are plenty that you can sample off the coast, with various boat trips from the harbour – including over to the impressive island of Cozumel.

Within Playa del Carmen you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants where you can grab a drink or something to eat whilst there are plenty of options when it comes to evening entertainment – albeit not on the same scale as in Cancun.

When it comes to shopping, there are plenty of top quality stores within Playa del Carmen, with stylish boutiques in which you can look for designer bargains to take back home.
