PortAventura

The popular PortAventura themepark is located around 20 minutes away from Cambrils and is one of the top attractions on the Costa Dorada. Offering fun for all the family, the park is home to some of Europe’s top rollercoasters that will thrill adrenaline junkies, but offers just as much for smaller children who aren’t quite old enough to tackle the more extreme attractions.

Costa Caribe

Part of the PortAventura attraction, Costa Caribe is a popular waterpark that offers fun for all ages. From high-speed free fall rides through to splash parks that are ideal for the smallest children, there is something to suit all ages. The ideal option if you want to spend a day cooling off in the water.

Barcelona

You don’t have too far to go from Cambrils before you reach Barcelona, with the Catalan capital being easily accessible by both road and rail. Spend a day in the city and you could explore historical sites like the Sagrada Familia, head for the main shopping districts to check out the designer boutiques or enjoy fine dining in some of the best restaurants Spain has to offer.

Retail Therapy

If you like hunting for a bargain, the Bonnavista Market is the biggest on the Costa Dorada and well worth a visit on a weekend. You can find all manner of goods and if you are ready to haggle, can find yourself a cracking deal at the same time. Within the resort there’s also plenty of independent shops where you can pick up all manner of souvenirs to take back home.

Fine dining galore

There are few better options on the Costa Dorada if you love food than Cambrils, with more than 200 restaurants spread across the resort. It doesn’t matter what kind of cuisine you are looking for, you’ll find something to tickle your tastebuds – and could even head for somewhere with a famous Michelin Star if you so desire.

La Llosa Roman Villa

The ruins at La Llosa may have only been found in the 1980s, but they date back until the 4th century – making them some of the oldest ruins you are likely to encounter on Spanish soil. You can book onto a guided tour to learn all about the site, with a virtual reconstruction to give an insight into what the villa would have been like.
