Positano
Famed for its stunning cliffside villages, Positano sits along Southern Italy’s Amalfi Coast. The array of colourful buildings, cobbled streets and turquoise waters provides an impressive, picturesque backdrop for all your Instagram snaps.
But where exactly should you head to?
Well, the first must visit location is Positano’s main beach - Spiaggia Grande. With the city cliffs setting the ultimate insta-worthy scene, your photos are bound to be the talk of the town.
Now the next location is a little more obscure; Delicatessen is a small restaurant situated on the grand cliffs of Positano. The rustic décor and natural greenery are what really makes the building pop. Strike a pose upon the charming staircase to the right for the ultimate elegant and artistic photo opportunity.

Venice
Probably one of Italy’s most well-known cities, Venice really is an unmissable destination. Everyone with a Pinterest account will certainly have a board dedicated to their photo inspo and we bet Venice’s famous canals pop up at least once!
A small, secluded pier sitting behind the San Moise hotel showcases exactly what the city has to offer. With the rustic but soulful buildings, tranquil waters and quaint gondolas passing by, you can certainly capture it all in one photo. And the best part about this hidden gem is how quiet it is, gone are the days of photoshopping people out the background!
Our next spot may not be as peaceful as the previous, but it certainly is worth the visit. Burano Island is only a 45-minute ferry ride away from Venice’s mainland and sees thousands of tourists’ flock there daily. This brightly coloured, old fishing village makes the ultimate summer backdrop, with houses all colours of the rainbow it’s like stepping into a real-life painting.
However, if you’re searching for more of a historical background to accompany your snaps then you should head to the Ca’ d’Oro palazzo.
Overlooking the Grand Canal, this regal palace now houses a small art museum. But the building itself is just as impressive as the gems it encompasses; stand between the extravagant window arches or head up to the balcony to get your perfect shot.
Dolomites – Northern Italy
This one is for the nature lovers! The Dolomites are a stunning mountain range situated in North-eastern Italy known for their enticing charm and unforgettable scenery.
Lying in the middle of The Prags Dolomite, the emerald waters of Lago Di Braies only skim the surface of the beauty it beholds. Bordered by towering mountains, pine tree forests and housing a small wooden cabin, this lake is nothing short of breath-taking. Make your way along the short pier for the ideal photo opportunity overlooking the postcard style view.
From one stunning backdrop to another, the iconic Val di Funes is home to another of Italy’s must-see Hidden away in the rural landscape, the white stone of the San Giovanni church forge a stark contrast from the rolling hills, encapsulating forests and striking jagged mountains that surround it. There’s even a small viewing platform available for visitors too so don’t forget your camera!
Last but certainly not least is the remarkable Seceda mountain. Providing a memorable view, the sharp Odle peaks protrude from the valley into the Italian skies. Take a cable car up the mountain to get a 360 look around the nature reserve or lace up your hiking boots, strap on your backpack and start making your way around the trails.
However you decide to get to the top, you don’t want to miss watching the sunset on this majestic scene. Although you may need to camp overnight for this experience, it’s definitely worth it and will ensure you get the perfect Pinterest worthy pics.
Rome
There’s nothing quite like visiting the big capital when going on holiday, and Rome certainly doesn’t disappoint.
The history this city boasts is unmatched by any other and one of the main attractions, Trevi fountain, is marvelled at by thousands daily for its beauty and opulence. But make sure to head down either early in the morning or late evening to avoid peak tourist times for your chance to get the best view (and photo) possible.
From the lavish and luxurious to the rustic and homely, Trastevere neighbourhood has an authentic charm and is a great spot if you’re looking for a bit of street style photography!
The terracotta-coloured buildings adorned by the natural greenery cascading down their walls compliment the cobbled avenues and traditional street cafes. With every corner seemingly plucked straight out of a magazine, there’s certainly no shortage of insta-worthy snapshots.
For our final Rome destination, we’re stopping at the world-famous Colosseum. Although an obvious choice, we couldn’t leave this spectacular monument off our list.
Built over 1,900 years ago the Colosseum is the greatest Roman amphitheatre and one of the iconic Seven Wonders of the World. This historic time capsule is a must see, but make sure to capture those scrapbook worthy memories.
